This is a very interesting aroid in the genus Thaumatophyllum. This is a recently discovered genus as these plants have a different growth pattern from its previous classification, Philodendron. This plant is known for its highly lobed and dissected foliage as you can see in the second photo! Each emerging leaf on these lil' babies will get more and more lobed with maturity. Thaumatophyllum are known for developing a woody like trunk as it matures and has usually only 4-5ish leaves at a time. We highly recommend this really fun species!

Care

Like a lot of aroids, these will need a bright filtered light to really thrive. It is best to avoid any harsh direct sun! These can be fairly drought tolerant though you will usually want to water when the first 2" - 3" of soil is dry. This may roughly be every 7-10 days depending on your home environment. When repotting these will do best in a coarse soil that will drain water well. We recommend nice kiwi bark heavy mix for these has they have fleshy roots and love that aeration!
