The Phychopsis genus is native to South America. It is a beautiful epiphytic plant with an unusual foliage patterning, and an even more unusual flower! Although commonly called the "Butterfly Orchid," we think the flower looks more like a mantis! Bright light will maintain the purple spotting.
Pot size is 2"
Care
Orchids such as this one will like a bright indirect light (they will not flower in lower light conditions!). They will also like warmer spring and summer conditions to encourage blooming. We recommend watering once the medium starts to feel a little dry, which may roughly be about every 7-10 days. You will want to cut back your watering in the colder months and let orchids go slightly dryer.
All of our plants are ethically sourced from certified U.S. nurseries. We strongly condemn the poaching of plants or wild collection.
