Jewel orchids are ever diverse and incredibly stunning. This is Macodes petola which is commonly known as the lighting orchid for its super electric green foliage. The will eventually put out little flowering structures with miniature orchids at the tips. These are notoriously slow growers and takes time for them to get mature but they can get foliage around 3" long.
The ones we're offering are pretty similar if not identical to the photo, they are small 2" inch plants and they are often cultivated as miniature terrarium species.
Care:
We recommend keeping these in strictly filtered light out of direct sun. They usually do best in sphagnum moss as a substrate as they typically grow in loose debris in their natural habitat. They also like to be consistently moist in the pot. We recommend watering every 3-5 days as the sphagnum starts to feel dry.
All of our plants are ethically sourced from certified U.S. nurseries. We strongly condemn the poaching of plants or wild collection.
