We love Maranta! This Brazilian species is phototropic which means they move in response to light throughout the day. They slowly 'open' their leaves to capture the light during the day and at night they 'close' upward. Hence the "prayer plant" nickname.

Care

Maranta can be fairly easygoing! They prefer a bright filtered light while being sheltered from direct sun. They like their conditions to be slightly ore on the moist side, so water as the top 1"-2" of soil starts to dry. This may roughly be 5-7 days depending on your home environment. When re-potting use an all purpose soil medium.
