This Brazilian species is Arium's absolute favorite Calathea. They are known for their extremely detailed foliage and for their photonastic movements. During the day, their leaves are horizontal to photosynthesize and at night, their leaves close up vertically.
Care:
These will do best in a bright filtered light for prolific growth, though they can tolerate lower light conditions very well! Calathea in general like to stay slightly on the moist side, so we recommend watering when the top 1"-2" of soil starts to dry. This may roughly be about once a week depending on your home environment. When re-potting, we recommend an all-purpose houseplant soil that will drain water well.
All of our plants are ethically sourced from certified U.S. nurseries. We strongly condemn the poaching of plants or wild collection.
