This has been on Arium's wish list for years! This Alocasia has the thickest and most textured leaves out of all of the Jewel Alocasias. These leaves almost look like they are made of plastic! It is only found growing in rocky areas of the tropical rain forests of Sabah, Borneo.
Care:
Alocasia will need bright filtered flight to really thrive. They will naturally shift their foliage orientation towards the strongest source of light. Sometimes, if an Alocasia leaves look like they are 'bowing' or the foliage is making an 'umbrella' shape this can be an indicator that it is not getting enough light. In general, they will like to dry out roughly 3/4ths of the way in the soil it is rooted in. This may roughly every 10-12 days depending on your home environment. When repotting, use a semi-coarse soil that will drain water well.
