Dendrobium ‘Hibiki’ is a compact and showy orchid hybrid resulting from Dendrobium bracteosum × Dendrobium laevifolium.  It typically grows only about 10–15 cm tall and produces clusters of vivid pink to magenta flowers with contrasting orange lips. The blooms are long‑lasting and the plant is noted for being relatively easy to grow for a dendrobium hybrid.

Short Care Guide

Light: Provide bright, indirect light. A location with morning sun or strong filtered light is ideal; avoid harsh midday direct sun.
Temperature: Intermediate to warm conditions are best: daytime ≈ 18–29 °C (65–85 °F), with cooler nights being beneficial. It does not require extremely cool winter rest.
Watering & Humidity: During active growth, keep the media moist and allow it to begin drying slightly before watering again. In cooler or slower growth periods, reduce watering accordingly. Humidity around 50–70% with good airflow helps prevent problems.
Potting Medium: Use a free‑draining, open mix (such as fine bark with perlite or similar) or mount the plant if desired. Avoid overly compact or water‑retentive media.
Fertilizing: Use a balanced orchid fertilizer at half‑strength during active growth. Flush the medium occasionally to remove salt buildup.
Blooming Tips: Good light plus a modest temperature drop at night often promote flower spike development. Mature plants may bloom frequently.
Common Issues: Lack of blooms often stems from insufficient light; yellowing leaves may indicate overwatering or nutrient imbalance. Good root health and airflow are key.
