These spiky stem succulent is native to Madagascar. They are a deciduous species, meaning they actually will shed all of their foliage at the end of a growing season and regrow them in the spring/summer.
These NEED a bright filtered light and even can handle full direct sun. They will not do well in lower light conditions. Water roughly every 10-14 days in the summer as the soil is completely dry. Watering can be cut back in the winter as they will go into a dormant growth state. This will usually be when all of the leaves fall off. When repotting, use a coarse cacti soil.
